WINGs Keynsham – New Programme 2011


6th January meeting – New year, New you. Jackie Franklin from House of Colour will be showing us how to make the most of what we’ve got!

No merriment – it’s January and we’re all brassic!!

3rd February meeting - Adele is giving us a chat about her experience of being a food safety bod at the Glastonbury festival
Mid month merriment – Feb 10th. Wine Tasting Clifton Cellars. £15 per head. Sign up with Sally or in the folder. Only 2 places left.

March meeting – Get plastered! First Aid and bandaging with Nigel Braybrooke.
Mid month merriment – Indoor Karting - Avonmouth. Sign up in the folder if you’re interested. Prices vary.

April meeting Thomas Docherty writes and illustrates children’s picture books and performs his stories for children in schools and festivals all over the country. Join Thomas to find out where his ideas come from and how they find their way into his books as he shows slides of his work and does some drawing.

Mid month merriment – April 16th. Our First Spring Fair – sign up for duty please!

May meeting (2nd Thursday from now on) – Zumba dance with Jody Lye. Loose clothing, trainers and water bottle essential!
Mid month merriment – Would have been the spring ball but now we're having it in October. Clay pigeon shoot instead.

June meeting – We’re doing self-defence this evening with a lady called Rita. Watch out all you potential attackers out there!
Mid month merriment – Hanham Court Gardens June 12th, 2.30pm  £6.50 to be paid on the day.
July meeting – Our 1st birthday. Shared supper and Mexican cultural night with food, music and maybe even some dancing. Don’t forget to let us know what you’ll be bringing for the shared supper.
Mid month merriment – Three Choirs Vinyard tour, Newent, Glos. Another event to sign up for. 24th July. £18.50 for tour, tasting, wine and cheese.

August meeting – A summer walk and a beer. A circular walk of around 3 miles taking in the Compton pub at Compton Dando about a mile from the end.
Mid month merriment – Archery in Churchill – sign up if you’re interested. £18.75 p.p. for one hour if we have 6 people. ‘Others’ welcome.

September meeting – It Is Easy Being Green! Our own Kate Rowen, Assistant Environmental Manager at North Bristol NHS, shares her top tips for efficiency in the home to reduce waste and maybe save you £££.


Mid month merriment – Weekend to Ludlow for the food festival has had to be knocked on the head for this year due to a lack of hotel rooms in the vicinity! Never mind, we’ll go next year.

October meeting – AGM. Followed by a wine and cheese evening courtesy of those lovely folk from Waitrose.   Not any more -  Waitrose let us down at the last minute.  Watch this space....

November meeting – Easy as a, bee, c.  Intro to beekeeping by apiarist (and W.I. husband) Dave Westgate. 
Mid month merriment – Ice skating

December meeting – Jewellery making.  £5 charge for this one and please let us know if you're coming so there are enough materials for eveyone.
